Why Tupendane Africa Foundation was started.
Tupendane Africa Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization registered in 2022. The organization is dedicated to creating lasting positive change in society by addressing issues related to gender equality, discrimination, and poverty. Through a holistic approach that encompasses education, vocational training, community building, and advocacy, we aim to empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
Tupendane Africa Foundation was founded by Ms. Roseline Mushi, a passionate educator and community leader who grew up in a low-income family where women and children often suffered the most. As a child, Roseline struggled to access education and could only continue school through the support of her relatives. This experience gave her a deep understanding of how poverty limits opportunities, especially for girls and women.
Driven by her dream to make a difference, Roseline studied to become a teacher. But when she entered the classroom, she discovered something heartbreaking: many of her students were facing the same struggles she went through, including poverty, lack of school support, early pregnancies, and violence at home. She saw girls dropping out of school, boys losing hope, and mothers with no way to support their children.
This reality pushed her to act. In response, she founded Tupendane Africa Foundation, a safe space where women and children could find support, education, skills, and hope.
Through programs in reproductive health education, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and mental health support, the foundation empowers women to start small businesses and helps children access care and early learning. Under Roseline's leadership, the foundation has touched many lives, giving girls a second chance at life, helping women escape cycles of poverty and violence, and creating a more loving and supportive community.
Tupendane was born from pain but built with purpose, and today, it is a growing movement of empowerment, love, and transformation.
